Kenneth Kuo is an excellent cellist, possessor of a fine technique, a beautiful resonant, expressive tone and a simple, natural, outgoing personality. His most appealing quality, however, is his unconcealed, heartfelt love for the music, which infuses every note he plays with an irresistible honesty and immediacy of expression. He is an all-out, unabashed romantic, and fortunately he was wise enough to choose a program which allowed him to give full rein to his poetic sensibility and brought out the best in his playing.
